My first Easton Grange wedding of the year saw smiles, laughter, rain, big balloons, stunning flowers, a delicious cake and an opportunity for an ‘epic’ set of portraits! Anna & Jamie brought together some of our areas best suppliers to make their plans a reality and provided a chance to catch up with some old pals plus make new friends.

“We had a truly magical day! It was absolutely brilliant and we loved every single second of it! The weather was rather spectacular and we were so happy that the rain held off long enough to spend a little time outside. Thank you so much for all of your support and guidance on the run up to our day. It was the easiest decision of all to ask you to be our photographer, and would not have had this any other way! Many of our guests have commented on how amazing you were and I honestly wish you were there to hear all of their wonderful comments… Your passion for photography and character really sets you apart from everyone else and we felt at complete ease with you present on our day.” Jamie & Anna

I met Anna & Jamie at one of Easton’s open days some time ago and was really taken with their excitement and how obviously head over heels they are for each other. I was over the moon when they asked me to be their photographer. It’s always a pleasure to work alongside Helen Newman and Helen of Amelie’s kitchen who both did an amazing job with flowers and the cake respectively. This was also my first opportunity to shoot alongside videographers Steve and Jenny of  Unique Visuals. Apart from being genuine, down to earth and lovely people, their cinematographic wedding films are really gorgeous (follow the link below and spend a few minutes exploring their work).

If you’ve been to my website before, you’ll know that I’m a regular Easton Grange Wedding Photographer and know the venue well. However, I always want to try new shots and keep returning with fresh eyes. There’d be nothing worse than taking a cookie-cutter approach to weddings here and shooting the same shots, in the same locations, month in – month out. During the build up to the wedding day, I’d spoken with Anna & Jamie about setting aside a few minutes to create a few images which were a bit different and I’d not seen done at Easton before. Happily, they were really excited about my ideas and didn’t mind stepping out in the rain to pose for the shot above. Thank you Anna & Jamie!

Credit where credit’s due – Anna & Jamie married at Easton Grange Wedding Venue near Woodbridge in the Suffolk Countryside. On the day I had the pleasure of shooting alongside videographers Jenny & Steve of Unique Visuals and have to say they were brilliant – really nice people and great to work with. The cake and flowers were from two of the areas ‘A’ list suppliers, Amelie’s Kitchen and Helen Newman. Anna was helped with hair and makeup by C L Lydford and the Retreat at Framlingham. The giant balloon table centres were from the Party Balloon Company and evening disco (with confetti canon), was provided by the always excellent My Big Fat Wedding Disco.

I’m very honoured to be one of a handful of trusted and recommended suppliers at Easton Grange and visit regularly throughout the year. Click here to see more weddings and shoots from one of my favourite Suffolk wedding venues.

I wanted to capture a bit of an ‘epic’ photo for Anna & Jamie and knew the darkening sky and gentle rain would provide the perfect opportunity. With a little gentle persuasion (along the lines of “Anna, Jamie… look, I’ve got this idea for a brilliant looking photo… let’s go out in the rain!), and armed with an umbrella we took a stroll down to the the bridge at Easton. Lit with a single flash gun on the far bank at with the addition of a few fairy lights, I think we did it!
