Here’s an admission for you. I have bit of a soft spot for Morris Dancing… I know that’s neither particularly cool or trendy, but you know what – I really don’t mind. Morris Dancing has a proper honesty that I love.
Now this is where things get tricky. In posting these photo’s I need to let you into a secret. Hidden in the Suffolk countryside, a little way inland from Saxmundham, is one of the best pubs you will ever visit – the Sweffling White Horse. It’s only open 4 evenings a week, has no bar (you knock on the door of a tap-room, order and as if by magic a pint of something special appears), and can be a bit tricky to find. However, this all adds to its uniqueness and charm. I know after reading this you’ll be flocking to rural Suffolk to experience the pub for yourselves, just promise not to tell anyone else where you’ve been and let’s keep it our special secret!
So, one of the best pubs in Suffolk. Add the East Suffolk Morris Men dancing in the late spring twilight followed by drinking and singing in the bar. Perfect!
Remember… Mum’s the word!
