Planning a summer wedding in the English countryside can be a nerve wracking experience – will it rain, will all the suppliers be able to bring your plans together without hitch, will everyone find the venue! Imagine then, trying to plan your wedding from Australia, 10,000 miles away with a 9 hour time difference. For most couples this would be bit of a challenge but not for Sally & Laurence! The couple are professional co-ordinators and organisers (working on large events around the world), and had meticulously planned their day, bringing together some of our area’s best suppliers to create a truly memorable wedding.
The day began with Sally’s parents near Ipswich before the wedding ceremony at the historic St Mary’s church in Helmingham. Dating back to the mid 13th century, the church is the final resting place of many members of the Tollemache family, owners of neighbouring Helmingham Hall – the family home for more than 500 years.
After the ceremony, Sally & Laurence led guests to their reception in the grounds of Helmingham Hall, a beautiful setting for a brilliant day. Laurence’s mum kindly offered her convertible mini for photos and a fun arrival at the wedding breakfast. Delicious food from local go-to caterers the Fox & Goose was followed by speeches and lots of proper dancing. The evening was rounded off with sparklers – a lovely way to round off a cracking day.
“Amazing!! ❤️ You are a craftsman, a gentleman and an all round top bloke! We couldn’t be happier with the photos, you’ve really captured the day perfectly! 🙂 Thank you again, we’ll definitely be recommending you to all our friends and family! ” Sally & Laurence
Credit where credit’s due – Sally & Laurence married at historic Helmingham Church followed by a marquee reception in the grounds of neighbouring Helmingham Hall. On the day I had the pleasure of working with a brilliant group of fellow wedding professionals, all of whom pulled out all the stops to ensure the day was perfect. Flowers were by Jades Flowers. Catering throughout the day was by the Fox & Goose at Fressingfield who I regularly work alongside (and get to enjoy their delicious food :-)). Guests danced the evening away to rock and blues band Swamp Cats. It was a pleasure to work again with VT Films who filmed the day – Rich & Ellie are great to shoot alongside and are one of the local wedding filmmakers I always recommend.
