A classic English wedding in the Hampshire countryside. Rebecca & Alan married in Winchester city centre (at the same church Rebecca’s parents married in). Their ceremony was followed by a reception at Houghton Lodge just outside the pretty Georgian town of Stockbridge in the Test valley.
Houghton Lodge Wedding
Such a happy day and perfect setting – here’s a selection of shots which included an unexpected paramotor flypast and the forfeit to a childhood bet between cousins (look out for the Darth Vader mask), as to who would marry first. All in the tranquil grounds of Houghton Lodge and rounded off by the best band I’ve heard in ages! Special mention must be made of a surprise performance by Rumorum whilst Rebecca & Alan signed the registers. Rumorum are an ensemble who play music from the 12th to 15th centuries and are led by one of Rebecca’s childhood friends. Their music is simply beautiful and sent shivers down the spine.
Credit where credit’s due: Rebecca & Alan drew on the help of the following suppliers in planning their perfect day: Rebecca’s dress was from British designer Nicola Anne from Brides of Winchester. The couple married at St Peter’s Church in Winchester and the reception was at Houghton Lodge. The fantastic Brass Funkeys provided music to jump around to for the evening party.
