It couldn’t have been any sunnier or warmer for Emily & Andrew’s Tudor Barn Summer wedding. A properly scorchio day in the Suffolk countryside just a short drive from Ipswich. This was my second visit to the venue and it didn’t fail to impress. The owners take great care in ensuring everything is kept well maintained and are always looking to invest and improve what they can offer as a venue. An example is the really cool outside bar which was a new addition since my last visit.
Like the most of my couples, Emily & Andrew found me through personal recommendation. In this case, from the former events manager of one of my regular venues! Using a local, trusted photographer was important to them and it’s a massive honour that of all the photographers she’d seen I was the one recommended. ‘Enough with the self-praise, what about their day’, I hear you sigh dear reader…
Picture the scene
The Tudor Barn lends itself to smaller, relaxed and intimate weddings. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and are perfect for an outdoor summer wedding. Picture the scene, friends and family chatting in the shade of the cart shed, sipping on a gin & tonic from the open bar while couples stroll around the grounds, savouring the atmosphere and reminiscing about their own wedding day or even thinking forward to what theirs will be like. You’re then called to take your seats in the barn (which dates back to the 16th century), carefully restored using materials reclaimed from other nearby buildings which had reached then end of their lives. After your meal it’s time for more mingling with you guests while the barn is made ready for your evening party.
So there you have it, a beautiful day centred around a blissfully happy couple and their truly lovely families. Who could ask for more!
Here’s a selection of photos from their day, grab a cuppa and spend a moment or two scrolling through.
You made it to then end of the post – thank you!

This was my second Tudor Barn summer wedding (click here to see my previous visit), and both were brilliant days. The intimate feel and fab grounds of the venue lend themselves to a summer wedding and open barn gives plenty of shade from the summer sun. As you’ll have no doubt seen by now, I specialise photographing relaxed and informal weddings at venues across Suffolk. You can see more Suffolk Wedding Photography on the blog and explore the website to read a little about the couples who book me along with a few frequently asked questions.
